What is Body Fat Percentage?
Body fat percentage represents the total mass of fat divided by total body mass, multiplied by 100. It distinguishes between essential fat (necessary for insulation, hormone regulation, and organ protection) and storage fat (excess energy reserves).
This calculator uses the U.S. Navy Circumference Method, which provides a highly reliable, cost-effective estimation of body fat using simple tape measurements of the neck, waist, and hips.
